This was bad. No, beyond bad; disastrous. The scandal of misplacing a baby might be enough to close the entire creche.

Adraradraktonasis checked under the rows of cradles. "Come on, Koschei, you little demon, where are you?" Blast that child, more trouble than he was worth; always fussy, always crying...

Adrara stopped. Two boys lay in Theta's crib, curled up together, one placidly sucking the dummy that had fallen from his cotmate's mouth. Amazingly, in Theta's company, little Koschei the Terrible was actually calm.

Adrara hesitated...then slowly walked away, leaving the little lost boy exactly where she'd found him.

yeah, it is a bit soppy; but i'm looking forward to seeing them together again SO much this christmas...eh, i blame the holidays; 'tis the season for a bit of senitmental drivel. :)
